Business Development Manager, Westside Housing Organization, Kansas City, MO
Duties: Maintains a full understanding of the financial matters of Westside Housing Organization and its related entities and prepares financial reports on a regular basis. Reconciles all accounts receivable and accounts payable ledger accounts to sub-ledger accounts that indicate amounts due from/to entities or individuals. Reconciles accounts receivable balances on Westside Housing Organization to the related accounts payable balances from its related entities. Prepares the Statement of Activities, the Statement of Financial Position, and the Statement of Cash Flows for distribution to the Westside Housing Organization Finance Committee, Board of Directors, and other parties. Assists in preparing the annual budget for Westside Housing Organization. Facilitates all year-end closing requirements for the accounting system. Coordinates the year-end audit and tax preparation requirements (with the appropriate CPA firm) for Westside Housing Organization, all affiliated entities, and all asset managed properties. Assists with all necessary records and preparing reports for low-moderate income housing as required by HUD, MHDC and city CDBG. Ensures that all financial operations of Westside Housing Organization and related entities are handled in a timely accurate manner and meet the necessary financial controls. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Payroll Processing; Posts payroll transactions into the accounting system; and prepares and files payroll related tax reports when due. Works with the Asset Manager to verify cash deposit amounts and posts to the accounting system. Prepares monthly accounts receivable invoices to charge payroll related costs, management fees and other costs incurred by Westside Housing Organization to the appropriate entity. Monitor other staff and processes invoices for payment, including the securing of appropriate approval for costs, entering the obligations into accounting system, writing checks, obtaining signatures, and mailing payments to vendors. Builds and programs a database for Tax Relief Program. Creates invoices and letters using Microsoft access. Uses Query’s to obtain specific client’s information and tracking data. Maintains a listing of all bank accounts with a listing of owner, sources and uses of funds, authorized signers on accounts. Reconciles bank accounts monthly. Ensures that maintenance contracts are maintained. Maintains personnel files on all employees and ensures that all benefits are in place. Assists the Asset Manager as they prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports on the asset management properties for distribution to the board of directors, management staff, lenders, and equity partners. No hire/fire authority.
Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Accounting, or related discipline, plus two years of related experience. Must have experience with QuickBooks Online and Yardi Breeze. Must have experience using Microsoft Access and Query. Telecommuting is permissible within a reasonable commuting distance from the Kansas City, MO office.
